Lucy McLeish - Play and Creative Arts Therapist

Meet Lucy

My background is in teaching, specialising in early years. Over time, I noticed I was becoming more interested in children’s personal, social and emotional development and it was this that drove me to follow my passions and retrain as a Play and Creative Arts Therapist. Alongside this, my personal experience of ‘life storms’ has empowered me to want to help children with adverse experiences, at the time when they need it most, through therapeutic intervention, connecting and empathising with my clients/ their families.

I am currently working as a Play and Creative Arts Therapist with children from early years through to secondary in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. I feel honoured to walk alongside them on their journey to finding their path.

My interests are in: bereavement, attachment, parental separation, neuroscience, retained primitive reflexes, emotional regulation and sleep.

Meet Tor

My background is in teaching, which led to an interest in children with SEND. My previous role has been as a SENCO in both primary and secondary settings. I have a passion for supporting children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties, which influenced my career direction and journey to becoming a Certified Play and Creative Arts Therapist. Having worked with a range of children and families with additional needs, I recognise the need for therapeutic intervention with the child at the centre of all support.

I am currently working as a Play and Creative Arts Therapist in primary and secondary schools in North Somerset, Bristol and South Gloucestershire.

My interests are in: trauma, attachment, emotional regulation, neuroscience and adolescents.
